“ABBA Father, You said that if we dwell in Your secret place,
we will abide under Your shadow.
You said that You are our refuge and fortress.
We can trust in You!
You promise to deliver us from the snare of the fowler & from the perilous pestilence.
You promise to cover us with Your feathers,
and we can take refuge under Your wings.
Your truth shall be our shield and buckler.
You said we don’t have to fear the terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at our side
and ten thousand at our right hand.
But You promise that it will not come near us.
With our eyes shall we look, and see the reward of the wicked.
Because we have made You, our refuge,
our dwelling place, no evil shall befall us!
Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling.
You promise to give Your angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways.
In their hands they shall bear us up,
Lest we dash our foot against a stone.
You said that we will tread upon the lion and the cobra.
The young lion and the serpent we will trample underfoot.
Because we have set our love upon You, therefore You promise to deliver us;
You will set us on high, because we have known Your name!
We will call upon You, and You promise to answer us.
You will be with us in trouble.
You will deliver us and honor us.
With long life You will satisfy us,
And show us Your salvation.”
